Established in 1978, Skate City is officially Irelands oldest Skate Shop.

Clive Rowen, the Dublin 'Godfather of Skateboarding' as he is affectionately known by local skateboarders, originally set up shop on Hill Street, trading under the name 'Clives Cycle Centre'.

Originally specializing in bicycles, he then started importing the first skate boards to Ireland and built a mini-ramp at the side of his shop, for local skateboarders to use.

At that time, he campaiged for Ireland's City Councils to set up skate parks and local amenities for skate boarders.

In the 90's he then moved to 14 Crown Alley, in the bustling tourist hotspot of Temple Bar, and set up Skate City, where it still is today.
